At digitalLIFT, we’re proud to highlight AT&T, a long-time supporter and true partner in our work to close the digital divide. Cammy Blackstone, from AT&T’s External Affairs, shared:
“At AT&T, we aim to connect people to greater possibilities. We are proud to partner with digitalLIFT to create opportunities for people to access digital literacy resources, connect with friends and family, find jobs, further their education, and unlock all kinds of opportunities. This collaboration underscores our commitment to empowering communities and fostering a more inclusive digital world.”
Thanks to an AT&T Foundation grant—and the dedication of AT&T volunteers—digitalLIFT hosted four Tech Teach-In events across San Francisco. These sessions delivered 166 hours of training to 87 older adults, covering essential digital topics like smartphone basics, password management, using Zoom and FaceTime, and identifying misinformation online. We also distributed 20 devices to help learners stay connected and confident in their tech use.
What made these events even more impactful was the support of AT&T team members, who showed up as volunteers to coach, troubleshoot, and connect with learners one-on-one. Their presence brought warmth, energy and deepened the sense of community at each event.
AT&T understands that digital literacy is more than just understanding technology; it’s about empowering individuals to access essential services, maintain connections with loved ones, and make informed decisions. As our world becomes increasingly digital, possessing these skills ensures that individuals can navigate online platforms confidently, from scheduling medical appointments to engaging in virtual conversations with family. By fostering digital proficiency, we enable communities to thrive in today’s interconnected landscape.
This recent collaboration builds on a long history of partnership between digitalLIFT and AT&T. Beyond supporting our work locally, AT&T continues to lead nationally in the digital equity space, investing in programs that expand broadband access, promote digital literacy, and support underserved communities across the country.
We’re incredibly thankful for AT&T’s ongoing commitment to digital inclusion—and we’re excited to explore new ways to grow our impact together.
Thank you, AT&T, for helping us bridge the digital divide—one learner at a time.
