Our board members bring a wealth of experience, passion, and commitment to advancing digital inclusion. This month, we’re thrilled to spotlight Chip Supanich, our Board Vice-Chair and a key member of the Nomination & Governance Committee.
Why Chip Joined Our Board
In November 2024, Chip joined the digitalLIFT Board of Directors because he was motivated by a strong belief in our mission. A longtime advocate for equity and inclusion, he says our focus “jibes well with [his] work in social justice.”. So, when a close friend on staff encouraged him to apply, he took it to heart.
Professional Background
Chip brings decades of experience in community advocacy, with leadership roles across city commissions, boards, and councils, all focused on social justice initiatives. His work has centered on creating equitable opportunities and amplifying underrepresented voices in our communities.
The Importance of Digital Inclusion
For Chip, digital inclusion isn’t optional—it’s essential. “The digital world IS the world,” he says. “Everyone deserves the opportunities and advantages of internet access and the appropriate devices to navigate and thrive in today’s society. People who lack digital skills and tools are at a significant disadvantage in almost every way.”

Chip encourages everyone to take action wherever they see digital inequities, and offers the following tips:
- Speak up and ask decision-makers to prioritize digital inclusion.
- Volunteer with nonprofits working to close the digital divide.
- Support legislation that expands access and resources for underserved communities.
- And, of course, donate generously to digitalLIFT and help power our programs.
Life Outside the Board
When he’s not advancing digital equity, Chip enjoys a rich mix of hobbies: long city walks, cool overcast days at the beach, and soaking up culture at the symphony, musical theater, and local music clubs. A history buff with a love for museums, gardens, comedy clubs, and dining out, he also cherishes quiet moments with his cat, Phoebe, and unwinding with streaming shows and movies.
