Building Local Leadership for a Connected Nation
Lead For America (LFA) believes every community has the local talent and leadership to realize its unique vision. Through the American Connection Corps (ACC) AmeriCorps program—a service fellowship focused on digital connectivity and opportunity—LFA partners with local organizations across the nation to recruit ACC Members from the communities they serve.

ACC Members leverage their deep community relationships and local knowledge to lead projects that advance community-defined priorities such as expanding broadband access, increasing digital literacy, and supporting AI readiness. With training from LFA and its curriculum partners, Members fill critical skill gaps while delivering meaningful, place-based impact and strengthening their communities’ leadership pipelines.
digitalLIFT’s partnership with LFA supports this mission by helping ACC Members become confident, informed digital navigators—community leaders capable of connecting their neighbors to technology, skills, and opportunity.
Bringing Training and Curriculum to Scale
In the first stage of this valued partnership, digitalLIFT developed a customized online training module to help onboard ACC service members. This interactive training—complete with activities and knowledge checks—serves as an essential resource for ACC Members.

Additionally, about 50 American Connection Corps Members have been enrolled in digitalLIFT’s Digital Navigators Training, along with Teaching Digital Skills and Strategy & Program Design. These members were also able to choose two more focus area modules to best suit their unique roles and training needs. Following the asynchronous training, Members will join a virtual debrief live with digitalLIFT staff in April. This will be an opportunity to discuss lessons learned, ask questions, and brainstorm solutions in a group.
Shared Goals, Stronger Communities
This collaboration reflects a shared belief between digitalLIFT and Lead For America: that digital inclusion begins with local leadership. By equipping ACC Members with tools to support digital literacy, plan effective programs, and promote online safety, the partnership is expanding what service can mean in a connected world.
Together, these organizations are demonstrating how capacity building and curriculum design can amplify the impact of national service—empowering leaders to bring connectivity, confidence, and opportunity to their communities.
